Today I will: Finish glazing my Netsuke', make sure I've turned in my pinch pot, and start designing my ceramic lamp.

Tuesday
Today I will: Create the template for my ceramic lantern.
Using our profile drawings we will construct the pieces that will become the sides, top and bottom of our lantern. We will cut out the paper version to prototype before attempting it in clay. This may take a few tries.
Once we have our finished template, we will roll out a slab, being careful of the grain. We will cut out our pieces using our paper template.

Wednesday
Hopefully our slab pieces are still plastic enough for us to work with. Today we will add our stamp to the surface of our mug, and then use our press mold to create forms to attach to the surface. Remember to slip and score well so that your forms stay put!
It's important to keep your project wet so that you can continue to work with the pieces. Once the surface is how your want it, let your pieces dry to leather hard.

Thursday
Today we put it all together. The tricky part will be making sure the pieces are not too hard or too soft to put together.
Attach the sides, bottom and handle by slipping and scoring. Reinforce contact points with a coil of clay slipped and scored to the surface. Pay special attention to the bottom and handle of your mug, as these will get the most abuse when put in service.

Friday
Your mug should be ready to go by the end of class today. If you finish early, try slip casting using a plaster mold. Ms. Moran will do a demonstration.
